About Kayu Bali

We, Ivan and Katja, your hosts, are a couple from Belgium who, after 30 years in hospitality and having traveled the world, fell in love with Bali. The moment we stepped on the island, we felt at home. In 2016, we decided to move to Bali and realize our dream of opening an intimate guesthouse on the Island of the Gods. Our main goal is to provide our guests with a personal experience during their holiday in Bali and make them feel at home. This is how Kayu Bali was born.

KAYU means wood in the Indonesian language, which refers to our guest rooms. We have thrived to use only locally sourced materials in the building of our guest rooms. Every guest room is an authentic “joglo” (Javanese wooden house) with a private bathroom and terrace.
